tracking and hacking

So lots of people are getting all whiny about internet tracking and how it’s used to send personalized advertisement to people, internet safety and privacy get called into question. Over all I feel that we’re beating a dead horse by continuing to discuss it, it’s a well-known fact that internet tracking is of no harm to shoppers being there’s no real information, out side of a person’s shopping list, that you can get from this information. So you get a little junk mail, just delete it instead of whinnying about it like a spoiled child.
To go with that a lot of people have been confusing internet tracking with computer hacking; internet tracking is a compiled data base of all the things you have purchased on line or using a card, while computer hacking is the process of someone using their technical skills and devices to hack into computers in order to steal information you as the user of your computer put onto in. Computer hacking is taking control of a person’s computer which allows them to view your personal files, and use any logins you have saved on to your computer. This however can be prevented by installing; firewalls, security systems, and virus wear. Of course if your too lazy to take these safety measures you can always open up secure windows, delete your cookies (The user name and passwords you use on line for those of you who don’t know the term cookies), and don’t store personal information on your computer.
Computer hacking is a serious concern however people are too busy having a hissy fit over a computer controlled system to worry about the real threat. Of course sense a lot of people feel strongly about these subjects it’s understandable that the lines between the two would get blurred by the un-enlightened and very gullible public. Tracking over all is a really good technological step in the field of marketing, while there may be a few bugs to work out it might just become an important bases for the world in a 100 years or so. Over all I feel that internet tracking is a good thing and is a step towards the shining future where our robot over lords will rule, however the public needs to learn the difference between hacking and tracking.

Orbit gum

The 2012 Wrigley’s Orbit professional gum ad; Don’t let lunch meet breakfast, is a in my opinion a very poor advertisement. Using a very scared looking chicken with a fried egg at its feet the Wrigley ad tries to evoke feelings of worry and horror from the viewers. The ad is meant for people with lingering bad breath, but it’s not only selling breath freshening gum but the peace of mind that you won’t send people running every time you open your mouth. However the text of the article; don’t let lunch meet breakfast, when combined with the picture of the chicken is confusing to some viewers and over thought to others.
The ad does have some minor comedy embedded in it but not enough to make the advertisement truly entertaining or worthy of purchase. Wrigley’s ad pushes the common belief that all chicken eggs are important to chickens when in truth if the chicken didn’t lay the eggs itself and the eggs aren’t fertilized then the chicken couldn’t care less about the eggs. This ad also teases the question which came first the chicken or the egg? In this case it’s the egg sense that’s what you had for breakfast however if you come to this question you’re thinking too much and probably shouldn’t buy the gum.
The ideas and misconceptions pushed by the ad are inconsequential and wholly ineffective. The setup of the ad is dull, the overall message was overly complicated, and the minor amount of comedy in the ad isn’t enough to make up for its other failings.

rising Pop

In the Rising of Popular Culture one of the first big ideas is that the Television is a menace to the high culture of the time, 1940’s to 1950’s. Especially sense at that point there was a Television in almost every home exposing the world of entertainment to the public. TV very much was a threat to the high class ideas of the time but was a needed threat to bring the masses closer to the upper classes level.
Other important ideas came as time passed in the form of books explaining that popular shows on the TV and radio, popular music, and magazines was exactly what culture was. Culture that was familiar and entertaining, many disagreed and argued about these theories being that the popular media reflected that of the public not the elite. While popular culture will never be fully accepted by all it doesn’t have to be. Over the last two weeks my concept for pop culture has not changed at all, just reinforced sense Popular is any medium that is popular among the mass of people.
