Video game update

My most up to date topic for my final project is as such; an analysis on female protagonists in video games and whether they advocate positive or negative views of woman in popular culture. While overall woman are portrayed pretty badly in video games more companies have been moving towards having more lead characters as the player character to play toward female gamers and hopefully gain more female players. With that said on the whole I believe that almost all of the games with female protagonist post very good views of woman, in a lot of games where the protagonist is male the females are large chested and fairly useless but when woman are in the spot of protagonist they tend to be more sensibly proportioned and the epitome of usefulness sense they’re the ones who have to do everything. I really do feel that the majority of female protagonists portray woman in a very good light. I’ve always through that video games where you play as a chick were good portrayals of women, but it wasn’t until recently that I’ve realized how few bestselling games have female protagonists n them. I have also learned that a lot of games targeted at young girls tend to be very bland, slightly sexist, and most importantly forgotten once they move on to real video games. The only real difference between male and female protagonists is that the females tend to be silent characters which better allows the player to project themselves into the role. So after my introduction complete with a brief over view on the history of video games I will start analyzing the different videogames with female protagonists pointing out both positive and negative points, in between I will talk about games that have the option to play as a male or female and how that effects the game. In between I will also talk about casual games and visual novels/simulation games where you play as a female.
